LOCAL RUNNING GROUPS
These groups were started as a stepping stone from starting out as a Beginner (Couch to 5k) to building confidence to join a local Running Club.
The key to these groups is that they are small in number - maximum of 12 people which allows the opportunity to support each other along the way. Believe it or not, there is a lot of chatting that goes on during our runs!
The groups are inclusive and friendly. New cohorts begin at the start of each academic term, although everyone is welcome to continue their running journey with us regardless of time frame.
As a former PE teacher and an England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness, each session is planned and delivered to challenge individuals through differentiation. Sessions are varied to include different methods of training so you learn HOW to train from the start.
Monday - 6pm - Beginner's (Couch to 5k)
Tuesday - 6.30pm - Improver's (5k +)
Friday - 9am - Trails (5k +)
£5 per hour session - Booked in half-term/ termly blocks
"Andrea has been the inspiration behind my recent running successes. As an ‘on and off’ runner who easily gets bored and gives up, Andrea has kept me motivated with her personable charm and knowledge of running. I now run weekly with her groups and some one on one running sessions to change it up a bit. She is exactly what I needed to keep going and continue running." - Clare
"Andrea’s running group was extremely well organised from start to finish and beyond. It was a safe space to return to running or for those who have never run before.
Each session was fun and friendly, Andrea goes out of her way to provide a personalised approach for each individual so that you always feel part of the group. Looking forward to returning to this lovely group in the future." - Karen
GUIDED TRAIL RUNS
A fantastic way of getting some one- to - one coaching, or ideal for small groups; guided trail runs carefully take into consideration what YOU want to get out of your run. Maybe you fancy an adventure of running somewhere different, deviating from the 'usual' route. Maybe you've visited local places and want to see more. These types of runs are perfect if you are considering an Ultra race, where the opportunity to slow down and appreciate a more steady pace is key. As a coach who has completed these long distance races, there is plenty of time during these guided trail runs to learn if it could be your cup of tea too!
Guided trail runs around the local area can also be great for team building days. The focus does not only have to be running - it can often be a beautiful mixture of walking too. These routes are predominantly on the public trails and off the roads which is a lovely way to explore the local surroundings.
